The Danny x Val was some of the best stuff in the whole show IMO. It made em actually CARE if these to got together or not, and usually I don't. (they didn't sadly, but I like to believe they will eventually. IMO Danny and Sam aren't going to last)

I try to avoid the 'romance is better than friendship' as of lately. Because I do enjoy myself some good friendships. In the one case of the two I have ending up together, it's partly due to outside elements as well, and rushed. A little bit later their natural personalities clash a LOT. It's just a big deconstruction of "childhood friends get together". The big point being "it doesn't always end in a fairytale way".

I can see why you're tired of it only ending up that way. I'm really keeping that in mind in the planning of my other stuff. I think the only reason the two mains in my current work are together is that its one of the big things that carried over from old plans. I figured I could mix it up a bit and make it deconstruct the old 'high school sweetheart trope' and point out problems with it.
