Yes, this. I'm not in the USA, OP, but I had an aide due to physical issues for a brief while in fourth & fifth grades and they did not report back to my parents unless there was some major problem. Granted, different country and not behavioural issues, but still. From what you're saying, the aide seems to have tried to placate your parents, so like another anon, I'd say the problem lay with your parents. Unless you had memory loss issues (and I'm talking, like, if something triggered you so badly you couldn't remember the day), then I'd say your parents were being emotionally abusive.
