Wow. Thanks for giving all us atheists a bad name as pretentious misanthropic bitter nihilistic whiners who consider other people's genuine heartfelt attempts to understand the world to be stupid and wrong, and equating "not believing in a higher power" with...with this horrific worldview. You make our lives SO much fucking easier, and you make it SO much easier for us to throw off the idea that the only reason an atheist is an athesist because they're miserable, washed-out, selfish assholes who hate the world for not being perfect.

It's not a unique or unreasonable position. It's simply a sad one. My reaction is to feel a deep empathy for her.

I think the OP of the comment might have jumped to conclusions regarding my personality and my life (in particular, I'm almost sure my occupation is not what they had in mind when they wrote "the job you say you have"). Still, I hate to think that my words had this kind of effect.

Clearly dreemy was only referring to their own worldview, so don't imply that they were trying to tar us all with the same brush.
