It's a habit, and I enjoy wank when it pops up.

I'm involved in zero fandoms anymore, so most days I just gloss over the secrets and comments. I need better hobbies...

Do you want a new fandom or you just don't care?

Eh, I'm just not interested in "joining a fandom." I told someone last week, upon seeing Winter Soldier, that if I was to get involved in one again, I'd get on the Marvel Universe train, because I'm all about the movies. But it sounds exhausting. And sometimes I think I enjoy things better without "the fandom" to muck it up.

So why I stick around f!s, I'm not sure. Besides years of habit. Same reason I read shitty webcomics.

Pretty much this, although I was never in any fandoms and I check back periodically while doing other hobbies.

It's fun and interesting with lots of great regulars and there are lots of different things to talk about if I feel like talking. And I can just lurk the rest of the time and it doesn't feel antisocial.

It's the only community on DW/LJ that isn't either a)dead, or b)a pit of shrieking harridans.

I dunno 'bout that. I, personally, just applied for the position of 'Harridan-in-chief.' Required skills included shrieking at all hours of the day and night, clawing the eyes of my enemies, nagging for hours on end, grinning like a deranged shark, and possessing a self-starting, go-getter attitude. Pay is based on experience and qualifications.

For some reason I find this comment very funny and can't stop giggling. *covers face* hehehehehehehe

Needed a place to replace my old hangout and here fit the void nicely.

And haven't gotten fed up with it yet.

Suddenly I feel afraid and a little bit interested.

Because I like it? The secrets can be interesting and sometimes inspire some fun discussion, but even when they don't just hanging around general comments and talking (about nothing much, lol) can be delightful.

It's a fun way to stay actively involved in fandom, plus it's not like I have anything better to do lately. Ain't allowed to drive until they figure out what's causing my "dizzy spells" and if it turns out that my neurologist's suspicions are right and it's some kind of seizure disorder, the Saints will win the Superbowl before I can drive again.

it's fun, it's procrastination, it's interesting, it's a community. my irl social life is a bit dry right now - not totally nonextistent but all of my friends I'm really close to are far away most or all of the time.
