haha, I just found the juxtaposition funny - I figured you were being hyperbolic in you "never volunteer ever" from above.

Also, that is good, and bad management sucks.

Yeah, the situation I mentioned built up over a period of several weeks. I eventually asked one person to mediate, since she knew everyone involved, stayed out of the drama, and was generally well-respected. Person two (who I had the problem with) jumped in to say SHE would facilitate the meeting since SHE was chair.

And that was when I decided to nope out of that. There are other organizations with half that drama that are twice as effective.

Yep. No point investing your time where not only will it not have a huge return for whoever you are trying to help but it's also mentally/emotionally draining for yourself.
