Cause it's older and anime fans usually don't go for that. And most manga don't have dedicated ones in the first place.

Still a shame, though, Alien Nine was an interesting watch. Might have have to pick up the manga at some point.

I haven't watched the anime, but there wasn't any incest in the manga. A lot of weird Freudian subtext though, so maybe that was what you found gross.

Not at all!
The manga ended with a bit of childish romance between two of the girls but that was really tame. What was gross however was what fighting aliens put the girls through.

Not that I recall, but the part where those boys killed Yuri's borg with their own aliens was pretty much a rape metaphor, and pretty disturbing.

well, on first glance the character/costume design is just not as interesting... moe bait they might be, but the characterization through outfits is pretty good.

Because it's somewhat older and out of print in English (currently quite cheap, but out of print nonetheless)? Plus it only got an OAV instead of a full anime which didn't even finish out the story, you had to read the manga for that. And when Alien 9 came out there was likely much less watching it as it was released, unlike Madoka.

Well, I'm going to give it a shot now, OP. I don't expect to love it as much as PMMM (just because that's one of my main fandoms and going into Alien 9 expecting to love it that much is setting Alien 9 up to disappoint me), but the summaries I've found make it sound interesting enough to try.
