I remember I really loved Hop on Pop when I was about 3. I drove my dad nuts asking him to read it to me all the time.

I think I was maybe just turned 4 when I started trying to read by myself, because I was jealous that my brother was learning how at school (because he was a Big Kid and I wanted to be a Big Kid too). I made him get a book out of the school library for me and I demanded he tell me whatever he learned about the alphabet or whatever at school every day. I remember the book was about the Care Bears saving Christmas or something.
