i don't remember how old I was when I started reading. I know when I was in preschool there was a little 'reading nook' and I used to spend a lot of time there. The teachers would call kids out of the main room to do special activities and my mom tells me I used to get in trouble all the time by pretending not to hear the teachers and continuing my reading.

My handwriting was awful as a kid and remains so to this day. I remember I had lots of trouble with cursive and my third grade teacher made me take special handwriting classes and threatened to hold me back if my writing didn't get neater (which is why I hated that teacher, because I was one of the smartest kids in the class and that's a stupid-ass reason to hold someone back and if she'd tried my parents would have complained to the school for good reason).
