Basically a "____ idek" type of tagging. Like for instance, "what is this cute shit???"

yeah, well, it doesn't exactly look easy (thank u google translate)

(Anonymous) 2014-04-21 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
The writing and reading is hell, but the grammar is pretty easy.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-22 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, it's the opposite for me. But I'm generally shit at grammar in any language.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-22 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
the grammar's some of the simplest I've come across. There are almost no exceptions.

If tumblr style tags on AO3 had any consistency like that, I would take back everything thing I said about them being barf detectors.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-21 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
So by 'pixiv style tagging' you mean repetitive?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-21 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
My favorite is 続きを全裸待機

なにこれ面白くない

I think it would be cute at first, but would get annoying very quickly. I know many J-fen who find Pixiv's tag culture deeply frustrating. Things like: people rushing to fill up all the tags with inane exclamations before all the proper category tags necessary for the search system are added, people leaving short review comments in the tags instead of in the proper place for comments, tags that are kinda aggressive or vaguely offensive are sometimes used because it's "all in good fun" (e.g. ones that are insulting to a specific character, or ones that make demands to the OP using a parody of a character's catchphrase - such as "If you don't update I'll even kill your parents"). The tags can quickly get out of hand. I'd definitely prefer something more systematic because it's got to work for everyone.

Pixiv tags don't seem to be all that different from tumblr tags.. Apart from the fact that they are in Japanese, is that why you like them?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-22 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Pixiv tags have a pattern to them ... usually ... which is a step ahead of LMAO TUMBLR-STYLE tags.
