I'm honestly just miffed that they turned three badass middle aged women into cutesy fairies who look like they should hanging out with Tinkerbelle.

LBR, in the original animated film those li'l old ladies did all of the work. Phillip just...threw his sword and got a lucky hit.

Not just turning them into cute fairies, they are making them stupid AND neglectful too.

Oh, bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep that noise.

How often do we see middle aged women taking a center stage in a Disney flick, or in any other movie? It's one of the things that sets the movie apart (and makes up for Aurora's lack of personality). The relationships between the fairies themselves and the fairies and Malificent are great.

To go from that to a flick about how cool Angelina Jolie looks is just...ugh.

lmao I just said that above.

People always complain about how it's the least feminist Disney film, but forget that Aurora was not really the main character. The good fairies are the ones driving the plot. And they save Phillip's ass.

:(

That's because Aurora gets all the merchandise. We need Merriweather plushies.

I'd kill for one tbh :(

Same. I would probably ask it for advice. And then pretend it said something back to me.

Is "cutesy" the right word? Because that close up of the pink one about gave me nightmares. It is a Thing That Should Not Be.

The trailers didn't give a good shot so I googled them.

The pink one is fine unless she smiles. Then she looks like she's made of plastic.

I'm looking for a better picture of the crow guy.

Imelda Staunton, who plays the pink one, also played Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies. So either having her being the pink one was either a horrible decision or a cleverly genius one. You decide.

And I agree about the fairies. I was actually looking forward to the movie with optimism until I saw what they did to the fairies. Merriweather is one badass chick. She was always my favorite. Fauna was a close second. Flora I found annoyingly bossy, especially because most of the time she should have been listening to Merriweather.

Anyways, the point is I would KILL for a Merriweather plushie. And a blue variant dress Aurora, but I'll just keep living in a world where neither of these things exist. *sigh*

Uh, excuse me? Phillip, get a lucky hit? I'm offended. Let's review:

"O Sword of Truth, fly swift and sure; that evil die, and good endure!"

The fairies made sure he didn't even need to do that. ;)
