See, I was actually excited about this and Angelina indeed looks and sounds awesome, but then I read theleaked script and everything flew out of the window. Even if it was an early draft and they changed a lot. I basically hated ALL of it.

It wouldn't have bothered me all that much to give Malificent a sympathetic backstory that would have made her more 3D, BUT they made her this super nice, but opressed person who EVERYONE bullied.
They made the three fairies completely incompetent and they don't care about Aurora at all. Maleficient has to save her several times and is basically taking care of her all her life which leads to motherly love, which leads to... you can imagine it.
And that is the part that bothers me so much. Everyone else got hit by the evil-stick to make her the good one and there is just no complexity at all.

...And you honestly believe a script that borders on lesbianism is going to be the real thing?

So far the trailers have followed the script and the summary doesn't help.

Yeah... exactly. I have not seen anything in the trailers that made me think they rewrote lots of it.

And I wasn't talking about lesbianism in my post, but I didn't want to spoil too much.

I meant that she is the one who kisses Aurora on the forehead, which wakes her up. True Love's kiss being motherly love would be great but... it's Malificent (and OUAT did it better).

(Except if you saw lesbian undertones in the script I didn't see? I mean, I'm sure there will be lots of people coming out of this movie, shipping it, but...)

Yep.

I didn't see any in the script, it's clearly a mother/daughter bond. But I know some people are shipping Aurora with Maleficent. And while I do want more lesbians in media 1) it's Disney I doubt they'll do it and 2) considering their relationship it would be grooming and... no thanks
