There are truckers who drive on meth?

I don't know whether to be terrified or impressed.

Terrified it is.

We get paid by the mile, so if you are a desperate/shady character who wants to make more money instead of do lame crap like take federally-mandated sleeping breaks, you do drugs to keep you awake for days on end so you can keep on driving.

I don't know how common it actually is, but I hear more jokes and references to truckers doing speed than I would have expected. And apparently the reason a lot or poor/working-class people do meth is to help them get through long shifts at their jobs. So it does make some sense.

I'm kind of terrified of it too.

NAYRT--My dad wasn't a trucker, but his job involved 16+ hour days of hard manual labor, as well as occasionally driving for hours to get to work in the first place, and he definitely did meth occasionally and had coworkers who did the same.

Ouch, I would probably have to be on drugs to tolerate a 16-hour day of manual labor too. D: I hope your dad didn't suffer any health problems from it.
