Man, seriously. As far as I'm concerned, the fourth game didn't happen. Apollo and Trucy and Klavier are welcome to take refuge here, where we give a shit about characterization and character themes and history, but their game didn't happen. It's too much of a betrayal of everything GS1~3 stood for.

No, I wasn't fond of the changes in Hercules too. I actually enjoyed the movie as a kid, but then after I read the mythology, I was kinda annoyed.

But I have seen -and do know- people who love Disney's Hercules, hence why it was included in my secret.

I've come to enjoy Marvel's 'Thor' series because it isn't an exact retelling of the mythology: it takes elements of it and makes it its own. Walt Simonson's run was probably the truest to the mythology for the most part, but it wasn't verbatim either.

And really, that's what I LOVE about all stories based upon all religions: pantheistic or monotheistic. They all have the same stories, but everyone tells it a little differently.

7. I'm sorry, I can't agree. Just about every movie or anything I've ever seen involving ancient Egypt, home to my favourite mythology, is utterly CRINGEWORTHY. Anubis is NOT evil, thankyouverymuch. *headdesk repeatedly*
But anyway, sometimes you can set that stuff aside and enjoy a work on the superficial level. Sometimes you can't. It depends on how into a particular mythology you're into, I guess.
