[SPOILERS: Incidentally, after being set up and having his forged evidence dragged out in court, Phoenix neglects to ask the obvious question of HOW THIS OTHER PERSON KNEW BEFORE HE DID. Which could have cleared the whole mess up.

He then proceeds to use his client's daughter to make a living cheating at poker, seems to have entirely forgotten his friends to the point where he calls the new protagonist and his aide "my reason for living", and is generally an asshole.]

[ATOMIC SPOILER: At one point, he passes off forged evidence to Apollo, so that he can unknowingly use it to convict a guy. Despite the fact that dammit, Phoenix should know better than anyone not to do that shit. It's not like that's what GOT HIM DISBARRED or NEARLY DROVE EDGEWORTH TO SUICIDE or anything, and Apollo's just a cute little rookie...!]

Basically it is just not okay.

I've pretty much disowned the game. My fervent apologies to Apollo, Trucy, and Klavier, but their world sucks.

... has anyone taken the characters and rewritten PW4 to, I dunno, MAKE SENSE given the previous games and characterization?

I haven't played it either; I want to so I can see what's GOOD about it and what needs to die, but I don't want to give Capcom money for it. ;_; I wonder if you can rent DS games.

It's probably kind of pathetic, but after learning the whole story I was actually in tears because I was so disappointed and hurt about it. And this is someone who was completely on board with the idea of Hobo Phoenix pre-release.
