4. Complete agreement.
The Phoenix Wright games are such an excellent source of inspiration in showing how you can be the biggest loser, asshole, or what have you on the planet and still be able to change and seek out more reasons to keep on living. Now it feels like that message got twisted around to, "Sure, you can pursue your dreams and exceed the expectations of others, but you'll still be a complete failure in the end." Bitter. I wonder if Capcom took one too many sips of Godot's java.

9. Seeing Silent Hill doing it's job makes me happy. :D

20. _{SAME DILEMMA. That, and I know it won't be anywhere near as enjoyable as the games portray it...but I'm still tempted.}

Ditto on that. I haven't gotten to the end of the PW games yet, but as I understand it this is exactly what happens by the end, and it's really quite sad to see. From what I know about the plot, I almost feel that GS4 would be a little better if there was no link to Phoenix in it at all... I'd rather see nothing than such a changed character.

Part of me kind of hopes that Edgeworth, Maya, and the rest of the gang will remain to be absent from the storyline entirely, because for all I know they could be thinking about making Edgeworth an underground mob boss and Maya a chain-smoking prostitute.

...which actually has the potential to be pretty badass.

4. Couldn't have said it better myself. And randomly, this is the first time I've seen such a united response to a certain series. No one has disagreed that PW4 has been disappointing in what it did to Phoenix.

What a truly awesome moment of fandom unity on the matter ♥

Seriously, I've seen people who think that was great character development, or that it wasn't bad, or that just don't care. I'm really pleased that so many people here are outraged with me.

Ditto. I don't have anything against the fans who like GS4's concept, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who couldn't shake this particular "twist" off and move on so easily. (And I'm especially glad that both the fans who liked and the fans who disliked it are being sane and reasonable about it)

Dude, I loved the concept. I thought it was totally awesome when it first broke. The way it was executed still makes me want to choke something really, really hard.
