If by "historical evidence" you mean "modern scholars who are really trying to find a way for him not to have been the pedophile that he was accepted to be for hundreds of years while also simultaneously making lots of noise about how common child marriage was back then," then I guess you might have a point, but if you mean "actual verifiable historical evidence that says that she was 18 quite clearly," then you're kinda out of luck. Plus there was the thing where she was falsely accused of adultery about 6 or 7 years after her marriage and was described at that time as "a girl of immature age." Kind of hard to see how someone who was 18 at the time of marriage would be described as "of immature age" when they would be in their early-mid 20s 6 or 7 years later.

Perhaps pedophile was the wrong word here, it wasn't considered pedophilia my Islamic scholars as child marriage was and is not uncommon in the Islamic world and tradition. It's the modern scholars who are trying to ret-con it, because they know that sexing a 9 year old isn't cool and they don't want that to be part of their religion, understandably. However, the historical record is...not so easily changed or painted over as all that...

Yep, she also died at 100, 72 years after marrying Mohammed, so things don't really add up to her being any particular age (12 is the age of consent in my country, so I'm not saying 18 to mean "an adult"). Also calling her "a girl of immature age" doesn't mean "a 16-17 year old", it means someone too young for marriage, so that's a direct conflict, not evidence that she was 9 (and able to be married) 6-7 years ago in the first place. There's a lot more conflicting evidence, just like there is in most religions' holy texts.
