XD I'm rereading Obsidian Butterfly right now, actually, and I agree. It's the last good one. (Though I'm pretty behind on the series, so they might have improved. I've never made it past Danse Macabre.)

And you're right! Obsidian Butterfly was the last one she wrote while married to her first husband. Narcissus in Chains was the first written while married to her second husband, and if I'm remembering my LKH trivia right, her first husband actually talked about the plots with her and gave crit... while her second husband was the president/major player of her fan club and doesn't crit her.

Which makes the whole drop in quality even more cringe-worthy.
