In need of good pet vibes.

My dog Jig got injured pretty badly today, and had to have surgery. He made it through that all right, the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been and the vet is hopeful, but I'm still worried and freaked out. I know it's for the best that he stays at the vet's overnight, I just wish I could stay there with him. He's such a neurotic, over-dramatic little asshole and I'm worried that he'll freak out over being in a strange place by himself and open his stitches, or have an allergic reaction to his meds (he's a delicate flower) or get depressed because he thinks I abandoned him and don't love him anymore. I know it's stupid to think this way, because my vet is awesome and knows his medical history and weird temperament and will do whatever's necessary to keep him safe and calm, but still. I'm a little worried about my other dogs, who seem to miss him too, for some unknown reason (he's a food/attention thief).

Anyway, could everyone keep their fingers crossed for my little buddy tonight?

ETA: Here's a picture of him I took last night. Just 'cause.

Aw, he's adorable. And you're through the worst of it now. I know sometimes if I'm expecting bad news and it doesn't happen, I keep expecting it after the danger's past.

Good thoughts for him and you.

Thank you! Yeah, as much as I gripe about the various acts of mayhem my pack of furry little hellbeasts commit on a daily basis, I don't know what I'd do without them and their antics.

Sending good thoughts. I know how terrible it must feel not to have him there with you & to be able to comfort him, but the vet's is the best place for him right now. They'll make sure he's comfortable and not in pain.

You're right. I know I don't logically have much to worry about, as he's definitely in good hands and is exactly where he needs to be at the moment, but there's still that nagging little doubt hanging around.
