Because it bored me to tears. I even tried rewatching it before and after I saw The Winter Soldier, and I just can't. And it bored me so much, it soured me to his character. When the Avengers came out I warmed up to him enough to read all the Loki/Steve fic I could find.

Ah, cool. I couldn't tell if you meant that he'd done something to piss you off, and I couldn't think of anything that would elicit that reaction. But boredom makes total sense even if I personally enjoyed it. Though I will say I liked it as much or more for the other characters than for Cap. Peggy especially.

Nah. I did dislike the character a bit because he reminded me of Superman (I fucking hate Superman). But reading some metas and fic made me like his character a lot more. And he is nothing like Superman.

I can't comment on that because Superman is probably my favorite superhero (comic, tv version, not movie version).

Sorry. The first superhero thing I ever watched/read/whatever as a kid was Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. So that was my entry to the superhero world and made me love the character.

I believe you mentioned Steve/Loki.

Do you have any fic recs? I've recently fallen in love with the pairing thanks to BigSciencyBrain's time-loop fic.

And it's nice to finally meet somebody else who ships Steve/Peggy. To be honest, I ship Steve with everybody. Except Tony, but that's probably just because I see so much of it.

Oh wow, thanks for the rec. I don't really read fic that much and I certainly wasn't a Loki/Steve shipper, but I gave this a go and it's amazing. I totally ship them now, oop.
