DW notification settings

Does anybody who is in the know/regularly reads DW news know if they are making any progress towards switching notification settings back to where you can get email notifs without also getting inbox notifs? My inbox is for PMs, damn it :(

It's getting really annoying to go back and clean it out, and I keep not checking it and missing PMs that people send me. :/

I do not know, but I am very mad that the inbox stops at 2000 messages. :( I was hoping to get 10000.

Wow, that sucks too. I've never gotten up to that mark though I have gone above 1000. gah.

Obviously, I'm in the minority, but I like getting the email notifs in both my inbox and my email. Sometimes I don't check my email everyday, so I'd miss some messages/replies/notices otherwise.

But if Denise and the others in DW management can come up with a way to allow users to choose to only get notifs either through email or the DW inbox, I would be all for it.

I check my email multiple times a day - I'm a student, so I kinda have to, besides which I get notifs from several sites, not just DW.

There used to be an option to only get email notifs, and then one day it seemed to randomly stop; I started getting inbox notifs randomly, and then when I turned those off I stopped getting email notifs. So I had to turn them back on. I thought there was some noise about fixing it, but this was a few months ago and it still hasn't changed - I tried turning them off, and if you uncheck "notify my DW inbox when..." next to an item, it also removes the email option completely. :/

So yeah, people do it differently, and I just wish we had that option, especially because we used to.

I hear you on that. They did say they'd work on restoring that option to turn off the Inbox notifs. But from what I've read they've got a lot of issues to sort through first, especially with Bugzilla dying on them unexpectedly recently.

I don't know either and it sounds like it might be a while. It sucks that people don't have the option to choose right now. At first I HATED having to clear out my inbox, but I'm sort of used to it by now and it's growing on me. Not having to leave mail up while using DW is kind of nice.

But yea, it'll be good when we get the option back.
