What if they only like writing canon-compliant fics? Death would kinda put a damper on things.

I don't know about the OP, but I don't really go for tragic endings. I'm okay with fix-it AUs, though.

Still, knowing he dies later makes those kind of fics depressing as hell. Personally not my thing.
