But it's not even creepy. I can't really see how it's creepy in the show (unless you find an age difference automatically creepy). And in the books it's just... sad.

Haven't seen that far in the show. I think the creepy factor here is as much due to the fandom's apparent reaction as anything, though I wasn't happy with the way he treated Dany in the books, even just to the point where I've read. He really pushed himself on her when she was clearly not wanting that kind of relationship or intimacy with him.

But she actually considered having a relationship with him? She pretty much vetoed it at the same time he made his move. It's not like she overtly rejected him and he was like 'here, lemee man-handle you'. She really cared for him, and thought on maybe taking him on as a lover. That she decided against it is important, yeah. But it's not as if there was never a hint of a chance, and he forced himself on her.

Maybe I don't recall that very well then. that's not how I remember reading it but it's been a while.

It's not even a matter of reading it one way or another. She's aware that he has feelings for her, and actively considers whether she wants to reciprocate.

What the other anon said. There's chapter after chapter of Dany introspecting about whether or not she could "bear to love the Bear as she had her husband" and other such lines. It's really very clear that she knows exactly what is happening and is considering it heavily.

Only when he finally goes for it does she get all huffy, at which point he backs off instantaneously.
