I find this comment a little bit confusing. Just because someone is sexual doesn't mean they she has to have a love interest, so why do you think "oh maybe she's a lesbian" mean "she has to have a girlfriend"? And you made a point about how people relate to her because of certain struggles she has; if people are relating to her because they read her as queer and that's helpful to them, I don't think that's a bad thing at all.

Basically, headcanoning her as queer does zero to take away from all the other things people got out of the movie. And it IS fanon/headcanon, which you do not have to accept or like, but other people might.
