Um, not much to say, but:

1. I loved the first series. Especially the fact that the characters are so rounded. I heard about the massive shipping wars over the show but honestly shipping really didn't matter to me all that much.*

2. I hated the setting of Korra, was iffy on the plot, but really liked the characters. Find myself most disappointed about the lack of detailed awesome kung fu animation. Did they switch animation studios?

*It's funny how even though I stopped feeling embarrassed about characters kissing on screen around when I hit puberty, for some reason anytime anyone kissed on the show I felt myself getting the same kind of second-hand embarrassment I used to have when watching Belle and Human!Beast kissing at the end of Beauty and the Beast. I don't know why. Maybe because I knew the show was targeted at kids mainly and I was watching it in that kind of mindset? I actually caught myself covering my eyes when there were kissing scenes and peeking through my fingers.

Finally, can anyone link me to their favorite fan artists? I'm not really interested in fic, but I'd love to see some art for either show.

The moment you gave up a tv show

Last week was the season finale for "Drop Dead Diva" and I felt like it jumped the shark. This whole last season has been pretty lackluster anyway, so this crappy season finale just made me want to give up on the show.

Anyone else have that "moment" with a tv show they liked that just turned to crap? Did the show turn around eventually and become good again?

I just checked out a recent one for Sailor Moon, issuu.com/lunacymagazine. It's only been two numbers, but I think it's off to a good start. It reminded me of the format me and my friends tried for our Gundam Wing, except we failed horribly. It was filled with misinformation (like Due being an actual God of Death and Trowa/Quatre being canon), gratuitous Japanese, bad fanart and Mary Sues. Oh, and since it was in the 90's we only reached five people.

We had a secret + thread two or three days ago about My Chemical Romance, and some of the commenters wondered what the band was currently up to. Like the 13-year-old I am at heart, I still follow their website, and at that point, I knew they were recording a new album and had been doing so for a while.

For those of you who missed the drama, MCR recorded a CD in 2008/2009 that they wound up scrapping in favor of releasing "Danger Days." Last night, Frank made a blog post on their website that they will soon be releasing songs from the scrapped sessions, two every month for five months starting in October. I'll start.

"As a result of Yukari fooling around with the Great Hakurei Barrier, various characters from multiple timelines got transported to other worlds.

Ai Haibara from Detective Conan (aged down) somehow ended up outside Ezio Audtitore's family home Pre-Canon. It also resulted in Phineas and Ferb being transported to Len and Rin's palace Daughter of Evil also in Pre-Canon. Meanwhile, Kogasa Tatara somehow got transported to, of all worlds, the Mass Effect universe where she bumps into Pre-Canon Garrus and scares the crap out of him. After that, both Garrus and Pre-canon Ezio ended up in Gensokyo right in front of Suwako Moriya.

Now all of these characters must find a way to work together and (from a few genre-savvy people) try and screw their universe's destiny against their original doomed timelines (especially for the AC, ME and Daughter of Evil universes)."

hey F!S i've got a game for you. this was going around on tumblr a while back, and i abruptly remembered it last night, then proceeded to play it for 4 straight hours (in my defence, i am sick as a dog and couldn't sleep). the gist of it is that you take any random wiki article, and the objective is to get to hitler's page by clicking five links or less.

for example, just now i was given "Ebony Jewelwing" (which is apparently some kind of bug) as my starting article. here's how i got to hitler from there:

i'm under the impression that if you somehow CANT get to hitler in under 5 links, you're just not choosing your links correctly. feel free to give it a shot and share your results if you so desire.

Movie Endings that Made You Go "NOOOOOOOOOO"

I just finished watching the movie "Tomboy", a French film from 2011. The ending just killed my soul a little, even if it was pretty realistic. What movie endings have torn you up?

Oh god, when the credits rolled after "My name is Laure", I was seriously shocked it was over. I totally read the film as a story about Mikael, a trans boy, so to have the ending that forces him to be a girl just stung like hell. Then I go to TV Tropes, and all the descriptions have him as "Laure" and "she", even though he only had to do those things because he was forcibly outed by his mother. Aside from the last line, he never calls himself "Laure", and even his six year old sister knows he is Mikael.

I know being outed and forced into a female gender role is a very realistic ending for someone like Mikael, but I don't really see how people read it as a happy-ish ending. He lost his friends, girlfriend (even if he and Lisa do stay friends), has to watch his little brother grow up with something he can never have, and knows he cannot trust his mother. Gah, such a gut-punch of an ending.
