I feel like if you and your friends still keep in touch on a pretty regular basis and have other things to talk about than fandom, you should be okay! It's okay for you to be in different fandoms; that shit is bound to happen. Just because you aren't in the same fandoms doesn't even necessarily mean you can't all discuss your fandoms together anyway. At least I do with my friends, and they don't mind; they do the same with me.

Anyway, sometimes people grow apart and while it's natural, it can suck. I'm not sure that's the case with you though, and hope it isn't.

Well, he probably hasn't had many opportunities to take a proper bath since falling through the wormhole at the end of Thor... I know how you feel, OP, because I used to feel that way, but I changed my mind basically in the middle of my first year of college. The last book I finished reading (I have started other books without finishing them since) was fantastic but I finished it almost a year ago. Now I mostly read fanfiction so. . .maybe they're like me and they just want some candy of the soul when they're not studying. "Legitimate" books are time consuming to read and keep track of the story, and it's difficult to find fiction books to like because there are SO MANY. Your friends may just be staying within the same 'genre' because they know that they liked it while they were growing up and it's easy to read and enjoy quickly, similar to how people stick with one or a few fandoms and just read everything in that because they know they already like it.

tl;dr: I love David Foster Wallace, but I don't want to read him after a long day of studying organic chemistry.

i like this show too op :( although i just watched it and liked it and didn't really look for a fandom at all (i was pretty busy with my main fandom) ;; it made me really happy to see a secret about it! i hope you find some people who'll share a B7 fandom with you! :)

I haven't see "Le TARDIS," but IA with Doctor Who this season. It's been largely a miss for me. The only episode I've liked so far was "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship."
