Every kink meme I've visited in the last year for ANYTHING, movie, TV show, is dominated by slash. Even if there are canon relationships and women coming out of the woodwork in the narratives, I've seen the vaginas shunted aside and ignored in favor of "they're so gay it's practically text OMGSQUEEEEEEE!!"

I currently participate in actual online coms *gasp* for six different fandoms and we have no shortage of Het stories along with everything else. The Castle fandom, for instance, is dominated by het stories.
And yes, the explicit het sex sells an iffy story just as efficiently as explicit slash does.
I am tired of hearing how one thing or another "dominates" fandom. It really is a matter of trying to compare apples and oranges. I'm not an Avengers fan but look at the canon. Look at how many male characters there are to female characters and then be stupid enough to complain about the ratio of slash to het stories.
