And a story for you: I've just discovered that Viggo Mortensen loved the horse he rode on in Lord of the Rings so much that he bought the horse from its owner. He also bought Arwen's horse at an auction and gave it to her stunt double who couldn't afford it and who adored this horse. I love sweet stories like this one. I have another one, about Robert Downey Jr: he was once at an event and an elderly woman, a normal, regular woman, fell down and hurt herself. He stayed by her side, spread out his jacket for her to lie on and didn't leave until the EMT arrived.

Mortensen also bought one of the horses he rode in the movie Hidalgo for the same reason.

Kurt Russell bought a horse for Dakota Fanning and her sister, too, after filming a movie with Dakota, and finding out how much she and her sister loved horses.
