What are the circumstances of him threatening her? If the same thing had been done to a male character would you be okay with that?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-25 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
This might just be me but I feel like threatening Kitty Pryde is a special case, where it's a little different from a male character or another female character. She's on some 'moral heart of the X-Men' type stuff.

So she is the 'innocent' or she is the one who always makes the moral decisions?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-25 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
na

I definitely wouldn't call her innocent (not the way she's been portrayed recently anyway. That's not to say they've made her dark and edgy or anything, but she's very grounded, realistic and is capable of making tough decisions) so it's more of the second one

If you know, can you tell me why he was threatening her?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Based on the scan posted above, it looks like she was taking him to task for letting a bunch of people die, and he...reacted badly.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Sigh. I wish people who actually read the comic would answer questions about it. That scan is very misleading to what actually happened.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
NAYRT. Presumably you've read the comic - so why don't you enlighten us as to what "actually happened" instead of tut-tutting about how we've now been misled.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT: Because it had already been explained twice in other comments. And it's mentioned on the comments section in the scans post that was linked. And there was another post in that community with more scans about it.

But really, I was just commenting on the fact it's weird that people who haven't read the comic felt the need to reply to a question about panel context/meaning.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-25 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. I would say she's been both at various times. More the latter than the former at this point I guess.

After psychically living a second life where she was a trained Ninja Assasin brought up to kill Wolverine, and having her future psyche sent back to her from the Days of Future past... she's deffinitly not naive, at the very least.

She's also one of the girls who has looked up to Wolverine as a father figure, over the years... so it's a bit more like watching a father abuse his children.

Oh. Meh. Looks like typical comic book soap opera drama.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Aw crap, didn't see this before I replied to you further up.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Those scans do not show the circumstances. It's a ploy to alienate everyone and establish his cover as a crazy villain. And I say that as someone who is not happy about Cornell's Wolverine at all. But I actually read it.

Ah. So there was an actual reason.
