Wolverine had moral high ground ever? His relationship with Cyclops has always been Asshole Batman to Cyclops' Superman.

Except that analogy doesn't work at all, because Superman is a nice person, whereas Cyclops is more of an asshole than Batman and Wolverine put together.

Wolverine didn't necessarily have the moral high ground, but people are usually more sympathetic to him, because Cyclops has such a massive stick up his ass that you can't help but like Wolverine in comparison.

Wolverine has always been the asshole to Cyclop's super-mega-ultra-drown-him-in-a-bucket asshole.

Offended by that comparison, on both Batman and Superman's behalf.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Ever since Schism, Wolverine has acted like he's morally superior to Cyclops.

Why didn't she just phase through the floor?
ozaline: (Default)

[personal profile] ozaline 2014-04-26 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
In the position she was in she'd have to phase through Wolverine's claws... Adamantium is so dense that it is very hard for her to phase through, and doing so causes her tremendous amounts of pain. She probably could ghost at the last minute if she needed too but I imagine having those claws go through her brain even while ghosted is the last thing she wants.

*She once ghosted through Sabertooth's body after he'd been upgraded with an Adamantium Skeleton... it was so painful she couldn't use her power for at least a couple hours (possibly days) afterword.

What are the circumstances of him threatening her? If the same thing had been done to a male character would you be okay with that?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-25 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
This might just be me but I feel like threatening Kitty Pryde is a special case, where it's a little different from a male character or another female character. She's on some 'moral heart of the X-Men' type stuff.

Those scans do not show the circumstances. It's a ploy to alienate everyone and establish his cover as a crazy villain. And I say that as someone who is not happy about Cornell's Wolverine at all. But I actually read it.

Man.

If there's any medium where it's cool to just straight-up ignore shit that's canonically happened because you think it's dumb, it's gotta be comics, right?

(Anonymous) 2014-04-25 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Fuck yes

(Anonymous) 2014-04-25 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. It's almost like it asks for it.

Yeah, this.

I pretty much don't think anything that happens in Wolverine's solo book counts.

How long do we think Wolverine will stay dead after his next storyline by the way? I'm thinking three months, maximum. Unless they kill him off in the movies too, then two years or until a new actor is cast (whichever is soonest).

This is why I follow cartoon/movie adaptations of X-Men and not the actual comics. It's less headache-inducing.

Ugh Wolverine

Ugh Cyclops

Ugh 90% of the older X-Men.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-26 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not enjoying his current solo, but I have to point out he only threatened her like that as a ploy to establish his cover as crazy and turned villain. Did you even read the issue, OP?

Wait, did they break Wolverine + Kitty Pryde which was one of the X-Men spinoffs that didn't suck?
