Alistair/Warden, any version. I mean, I still ship them, but I won't do so openly. The fangirls have kind of quieted down since the game came out in 2011, but it used to be that they were so loud, obnoxious, and just prone to violent outbursts (e.g., the classic "Alistair never loved you!" snow globe).

Right now, the issue is the people on tumblr who declare they HATE Cousland Warden and anyone who ships them, and they usually manage to fit in real life race issues into this to justify why they can hate you, you racist. But since I can't deny an annoying portion of Cousland Wardens kinda just did it for the fairy tale fantasy and won't shut up about it, I don't blame them...but it made me hate every other Origin besides maybe Mage. ESPECIALLY dwarf ones, Jesus. Good god, you never met a group of people that just thought they were just more emotionally intelligent than you because they picked an unpopular choice.

Same. Additionally, I'm pre-soured on Cullen because his fangirls have latched so desperately onto him and god damn are they entitled. I've seen a lot of demands saying they won't play Inquisition if Cullen isn't fuckable.

OMG is Cullen a teammate possibility in DA3? That would be awesome. And not from a shippy way. He's just one of the few Templars I like.

I have no idea if it's confirmed or not! I've only heard rumors.

He's been confirmed as a romance possibility, and as one of your allies in DA3. It hasn't been confirmed yet whether or not he's one of the characters you'll be able to haul around on adventures, or if he'll be stationed back at base camp.

Good god, yes. He has the most insane fanbase in DA atm.

the classic "Alistair never loved you!" snow globe

...What? IDGI. (I have little to do with DA fandom so this is confusing.)

Tumblr should stop being dicks to people who like different things. There are origins I don't care for either, but I also respect other people's opinions. This is a silly thing to wank over.

Background:

1. Alistair can marry Anora, widow to the previous king, or Cousland Warden.
2. You can give gifts to your companions to increase their like of you.
3. You can port your character into the expansion, Awakening, and see some specific decisions you made in Origins.

So, in Awakening, there's this gift, a snow globe, commemorating a royal marriage. One player, knowing her Warden and Alistair had wed and upon seeing the word 'marriage' was delighted until she saw a hateful word: Anora. Blinded with rage, she goes onto the BioWare Forums, and posts at the sheer NERVE of BioWare and how wrong it was, and how dare they change her story and canon!

Except the snow globe was actually for Cailan, the previous king, and Anora's wedding. It made no mention of Alistair.

So the lead writer of the franchise, David Gaider, makes a bewildered post, finally snarking "Alistair never loved you". It was a really great example of Alistair's obsessed fangirls, and was even commemorated by a fan who gave David Gaider a snowglobe that read "Alistair never loved you".

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I remember that snow-globe but I never believed it had anything to do with Alistair. Reaching, fandom. Think for a minute before you freak out.

In this context "Alistair never loved you" is beautiful.

Because Bioware worships the ground Alistair walks on. He and Varric are their golden boys, they both have extremely loud fanbases, and it all gets very obnoxious if you don't think either of them shit sunshine.
