Sorry, forgot to emphasize that the pins should hold your hair AND the edges of the hairnet. And no need to use hair gel or whatever when combing your damp hair prior to putting it up: re-reading the instructions of this wikihow link, I am wondering if the person writing this had ever done it or was paid to sell hair products or a man? I mean, brushing your hair BEFORE you wash it?!

Anyway, the hairnet should not simply be put on top of your completed bun, but help secure it too. And if you choose a nice looking one, the end result can look really elegant (as opposed to choosing one with flounces or lace or whatever on it?)
