Re: 3DS help

It sounds like the SD card might have overheated. When I used to play games on my Wii a lot, I'd leave my SD card and GCN memory cards plugged in. My Wii is always plugged in, in that "standby" mode (when it's able to update itself but it's just kind of in sleep mode). The next time I went to play a game, a few days later, my memory cards had been corrupted and so had the SD card. Turns out they just kind of fried from being in the system for too long without getting the chance to cool off. I lost the data from games I'd had saved since the start of the GCN era, and the memory cards became unusable, so I had to buy new ones.

If you left your 3DS in sleep mode for that long, chances are that's what happened. The SD card, and possibly the internal memory itself, got way too hot from being in a plugged-in system for that long. 3DS's aren't designed to be powered up for longer than their usual battery life. I mean, most of us will do that when the stupid red lights start flashing at us in the middle of a game, but the system still needs regular breaks to calm down. If you had remembered to check on it when you were done with the movie, it would have been fine. The next morning too, even. But a week later just exhausted it. (Note that none of this is said in an accusing tone, I'm just giving "what if" scenarios)

I'd say get a new SD card. If that doesn't fix your problem, it's the internal memory, so you should have someone look at it.

Yeah, that sounds like what happened. I'm planning on getting a new SD card, at least they're not very expansive. Thanks for the advice.
