Yeah, I would be more inclined to agree with those people if she wasn't obviously coming off/out of amnesia and not knowing who exactly to trust. I honestly thought it was just kind of incidental that the people who end up helping her were men. Maybe I've forgotten certain things, but I can't recall anyone saying that she shouldn't fight or treat her that differently because she was a woman (well maybe Locke, but he has his own personal reasons for doing his shtick.) I might be a little biased because one of my favorite females characters went through something similar, without amnesia, so IDK. I think I get what they were supposed to be saying, but the difference they seem to draw between JRPG heroine and hero really odd.
