Another update!

I know this is probably getting old, but I have more news regarding my dog Jig that must be shared with the world. So I took him back to the vet for an evaluation, and we found evidence that, despite his Cone of Shame, Jig has somehow managed to scratch at his stitches, causing some irritation. He's now on anti-itch meds and is now getting hydro-cortisone cream applied to his stomach regularly, but to protect his belly from the various things he's started rubbing it against (even in his kennel! I swear he's a genius at hurting himself), he now has to wear a diaper and a onesie (to keep the diaper on). His humiliation is unending.

If it helps ease your conscience, he's mean to his brother Pippin, and always blames him for any inconvenience he suffers. Like, as we were putting his diaper and swimsuit on him, Jig snarled and growled like a demon from the lowest pits of hell...at Pippin. Not at us--never at a human--but Pippin. And as soon as he wiggled free from my grasp, the first thing he did was dart over to Pippin (who at the time was innocently trying to steal a chewtoy from our grouchy elderly labrador, who also hates him) and nip him on the butt. Jig is basically the Ren to Pippin's Stimpy, while Mac the labrador is basically the Alpha dog to Pippin's Moon Moon. Sokka the dachshund, meanwhile, gets along with everybody except when another animal is getting attention from us. Then he uses his ninja-dachshund skills to somehow end up between us and whatever animal we were cuddling with before his arrival without anyone else knowing exactly how and when it happened.

I seriously hope he'll be able to forgive us once this is over. He's so going to use our guilt to his advantage by becoming twice as manipulative, I just know it. And it's going to work, too, because every single person in this household is a massive pushover in the face of cuteness.

(Glad to hear it! I worry sometimes that the things I post are only funny/interesting to me.)
