I don't think anyone's going to get mad about your trans headcanon as long as you don't insist that it's canonically supported or that everyone who disagrees with it or who dislikes the character is a bigot. Especially if you, you know, set out your thoughts in the detail you're clearly able to give.

This. You're doing just fine with the headcanon thing so far. There's always going to be assholes who start whining and moaning if any kind of diversity-related thing comes anywhere near their fandom. They're jerks. The best way to stay safe is probably to make up a new tag for those posts until you feel more comfortable with a wider audience.
