Re: Tell me what you like about yourself, FS
Also the one thing I do like about my over-emotional 'sensitive' self is how having such powerful emotions can make using emotion memory in my writing to great effect. I have a LOT of emotions I've experienced and even if I have never experienced a thing myself, I can (with other knowledge/ research) dig up a memory that might be close.
Also I do sorta consider my ideas and OCs ...sorta part of me and I could never hate them. I know I'll probably get laughed at for that and it kinda makes it sound like I'm one of those writers who are so close to their creations they can't take crit. (I'm not) But yeah. I love the fact that I was able to create them and...stuff.
I love my natural high energy level (and metabolism) too. That's pretty nice.

Well...usually the type of character depends on the story. Like I have one set of characters from a world of mutant like Psi, some of them have superpowers and a very small few are knowledgeable of magic. Their are characters like a science whiz geokinetic girl, a shy by surprisingly powerful empathic electrokinetic, a flirty shape-shifting fencer (who's also something of a pretty boy, hee)and a pair of half brothers (telekinetic and technopathic)who work against each other as protagonist and antagonist yet share two sides of the same hero/protector complex.
It also has some badass 'muggles' like a clever bookworm police officer,a woman from a wealthy socialite background who wants to buck family tradition to be an FBI agent, as well as the protagonists' two best friends,a super resourceful girl who uses jewelry tools as weapons when she needs to, and a guy who's not really great in school but especially talented at mechanics , messing with cars and taking stuff apart.
However the story centers around the dysfunctional old noble families of Psi and some of the major Psi characters have some tragic and abusive backstories I dunno if that would turn people off of them. The protagonist himself is an interesting deconstruction of the "hero complex".
In another story , a more modern wizarding school story with "arts mages", there's a lot of cool student characters (also the story has some unusual names but it's played as a cultural thing with mages) The protagonist is a girl who knows a lot about different types of art and does good art but has trouble in the 'magic' aspect partly because of the fact that for a while she is doing a lot of doing things for others instead of for her own sake. There's a nine year old music/computer prodigy with synesthesia, a gothic actress/makeup artist, a male cooking/gardening mage (from New Orleans)-who is initially teased because of the fact that he likes to hang out with girls more often (not because he's romantically interested in them, just because they're cool).
There's a character who's a fashionista yet her personality is somewhat similar to that of Pinkie Pie (because I was trying to subvert the 'stereotypical Fashionista personality' I notice in a lot of "fashionista" characters). There's also an antagonist who's a "Chosen One" (but there's more to the "prophecy" then meets the eye) and is something of a deconstruction of "Jack of all trades" Mary Sue characters. I made the setting of this story unique (setting was actually one of the first bits I worked out) but I feel like I did get a little inspiration from fanfiction trends in HP fandom. I also drew inspiration from the mane 6 of MLP as well as the kid characters of Digimon for the student characters.
I also have a steampunk story that centers around this one small family with links to an anti-government group. The main protagonist is the youngest son, who's sorta naive and wants to be like his older brother who's a scientest/alchemist. The matriarch of the family is the unofficial girlfriend to the guy leading the anti-government group. There's also an uncle who's hiding the fact that he's a serial killer.
That's just a few of my most developed ones.

But yeah sibling and family relationships are really interesting to me and I like to write about them and use them.
and on that last one I do agree. I feel the same hehehe....I think I put too much of my turn-ons in Shiro....or I gave him turn-ons I didn't realize I had. ..and now I probably sound creepy sorry.
