I've finally broken free and given up on this show. It's a shame because it could have been a great show. Given the source material, in the hands of a good showrunner, it could have been a really fantastic show. Instead it's just been... mediocre at best.

agreed. It's still clearly riding on the waves the (fantastic) first season set rolling, but in reality it hasn't been very good since then.
