Re: Most loved/hated fic tropes
(Anonymous) 2014-05-02 12:56 am (UTC)(link)A/B/O. any kind of creepy AUs where everyone belongs to a BDSM social class. nope nope nope way too reminiscent of real-world discrimination for me.
Mpreg is also just one big NOPE for me.
(also anything where the characters are acting wildly OOC, like normally sweet characters suddenly being all aggressive, or hardened military men calling each other "babe" and "sweetie".)
Love:
interesting crossovers & AUs that you wouldn't think work but then they do
epic longfics that are really well plotted and have good buildup
angry!sex
hurt/comfort. especially with douchebags or comic reliefs having a terrible day, and their friends or loved ones cheering them up
fics that sort of flip the D/S dynamics. where a "dominant" character actually turns out to need the "subservient" character much more than they need them. or where it looks like an unequal relationship on the outside, but they playing field is actually a lot more level.
secret relationships (and shenanigans when they try & fail to keep it a secret)
