I feel you, OP. I would be furious, too, if I slogged through any amount of GoT expecting things to actually be fantastical most of the time and instead got repetitions of "winter is coming" and three dragons aside from all the political crap. And I actually really like political high fantasy with very little or no magic, but I want to be expecting it.
