Re: Fan interpretations of characters you don't agree with
L4D2: Ellis being a complete dumbass, I don't see him as some kind of super-genius(although if someone wants to write him that way I have no complaints) but so often he gets written as so stupid that I wonder how he manages to tie his own shoelaces. He also gets written as far too naive, the dude knows what sex is, stop writing him like he's a fourteen year old who just discovered porn.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-02 02:01 am (UTC)(link)God, I know, I hate fic where Steve is constantly confounded by things like a coffee machine. One of the impressive things about Steve in canon (both comics and movies) is how adaptable he is.
Re: Fan interpretations of characters you don't agree with
I know right? Steve would have that shit down and if he couldn't figure out how to use something he wouldn't get flustered and embarrassed he'd freaking google it and master the damn thing.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-02 04:34 am (UTC)(link)THIS. Admittedly, life can hand people some shitty cards, but there comes a point in a person's life when you've got to claim responsibility. You either get up from the wreck or lie in it. And I feel like Loki has chosen to dig himself in it. It's like, damn, come on man, I know you'll never be your pop's favorite, but buck the fuck up and move on. He's let something control his entire life. And he's consumed by it.
This, of course, makes for lovely fic fodder. I feel, if handled correctly, it can be done well.
