Same here, but I think I can expand a bit:

Canadian politeness = extreme humility and apologizing for everything.

Southern politeness = gentlemen hold doors for ladies, ladies invite you into the kitchen for a glass of sweet iced tea and a pleasant chat.

But we also stereotype Southerners as very bigoted while Canadians as very open-minded.
