I love character creation, but depending on the game it can be fickle and insanely difficult to get what you want. It's the worst when you want a character to look one way, you look at them in the creation screen and think, "I've done it! You're perfect," then you get into the actual game and they look totally different. Usually the skintone; it's so disappointing.

I feel like I've made some pretty hot characters (see icon), but at the same time...those are my tastes so...idk. I am not unbiased, lol.

...They have mostly the same face with some tweaks to hair (color and style) and eyes. lmao.

Yeeesssss, I feel the same. And funny you mentioning Dragon Age since Bioware is the one I'm cursing right now. I don't want to be able to carve into enemies with my face, Bioware! He needs to look softer! I also have the same problem with them in that a lot of my characters have come out different once I okayed them too.

Those are pretty Hawkes. Soft faces! I am envious.

Character creation screens are rarely 100% accurate. Even if they look mostly the same when standing still, in different lighting and at different angles they can be completely different. Plus, facial movement varies things up even further... It's tricky!

lmao, I do. A lot of my BioWare characters come out looking too soft or round, but my Sims...I'm pretty good at getting my Sims faces where I want them.

I know! But I am full of frustration regardless.

See, I'm always angles, angles, angles. I have to work for soft. I admit to not having made a Sim since high school so I don't remember how good I was at that. Maybe if we made a face together we would even each other out.

I love angles though! A nice set of cheekbones can make a face. Do you have any pictures of your Shepards? (Or other BioWare characters? I love looking at people's characters.)

Sometimes you just want something different though, but finding a good balance can be hard.

I play on the Xbox so the only pictures I could get you would be ones from my camera and I dunno if that's good enough? I have, like, five Shepards but not all of them have been transferred to ME2 and 3. That's actually what I'm working on right now. I could give you a face code for some if you don't want phone pictures.

Haa, well, it would be an adventure, whatever we got.

If it's a lot of trouble you don't have to, but I don't mind phone pictures at all! (Why would I? They tend to be good enough to tell what the character looks like, which is the point. I've taken plenty of cell pictures of my Shepards because I play ME on Xbox too.)

Probably not. I'm just no good with faces, period. For me, it's like dancing. I like it very much. However, skill is not something I possess in that field.

Pfft, I think almost anyone can make an attractive character with enough effort! Plus, some of the default models can be tweaked to be pretty appealing too.

Jihi kinda came out weird. If you see her from the side you realize her face is actually flat and that seeing her from the front is a COMPLETE LIE.

(I have three others but I can't get their pictures right now. Which is sad because I happen to think Jeannette is very pretty. ~~even if you don't see it most of the time because she's black and the lighting in the game causes her to disappear.~~ but yay for bad, blurry pictures!)

Unf, I am digging Jaidayal! He is delicious and has great features! And that name is so cool; I love the combination.

Jihi looks like she could kill me with her finger. Her finger, or her cheekbones. She has an unusual face, but it isn't an ugly one imo; she just looks hard and badass. Which...Shepard is. It works!

If you ever take picture of your others I'd love to see them!

Your Hawkes are great!

I love the spiky hair in DA2. Reminds me of a lot of anime characters, but it works really well on Hawke. Mmm. (So do I! I need to finish the first DA again first...)

I loved that hair because I was trying to create a secret"crow/raven" styled character and that hair looked so... feathery, in a way.

I used a ton of mods, though, and only afterwards noticed that the tattoo was originally a vallaslin but (even though it doesn't show in the picture) it hat some ... beak-like designs on it that fit the theme. So eh...

Late too but: omg, that is one hot ass Hawke! I love the mod version of the armor and geez, that pale skin with the dark hair and tattoo...unf. He's pretty, I'd play as him!

The purple answers are so much fun! I tried playing a "mostly blue" answers route but then I got bored XD

D'aww, I like to mix it up depending on what character I'm playing. I've played more 'paragon' characters that I LOVED, but I've also done almost pure 'renegade'; the variety is fun.

Saaame. The first time I started DA2, I made (what I thought was) a good looking character. Then I saw them in actual daylight in the game and...omg. I had to immediately restart. Why the heck is the character creation screen so dark, anyways?

Every character creator I've ever used was at least a bit too dark. (Sometimes more-so.) The lighting is not accurate whatsoever. They should light that shit up accordingly!
