I really, really, really hate Youtube/Gmail/Facebook/Twitter/basically every single website that keeps changing its layout instead of attempting to tackle and fix the actual problems they have. I also hate how there is no option to go back to old layouts, even though most of the time the majority of users dislike the new one. (Why is everybody so obsessed with tons of white space these days? And why has everything been replaced with symbols? I CAN READ WORDS. I DON'T WANT TO SIT AND DECIPHER WHAT YOUR STUPID LITTLE SYMBOLS MEAN.)

Sigh.

I can completely agree, especially in regards to twitter. I actually like Youtube's current layout.

THANK YOU YES. I hate when sites "streamline" their look by removing all the labels off buttons, especially when the symbols they use aren't universal or anything, you just have to click and figure out which button does what. I STILL hate that Gmail did this and has no option to use the old version.

It's mobile, yo. The Mobile/Tablet Experience.

And they don't give the option to go back to the old layouts because they think people don't actually give a shit and will be fine with the old layouts once they get used to them. In fairness, they're usually right, but it is a shitty way to do things, especially when it's not just changes to layout but to actually operation (see: Google forcing everyone on Youtube to use G+) and it's also always annoying when you see their marketing dickshits talking about how it's an exciting opportunity for all of us to help entrench their brand.

YES I hate those symbols. It's so much easier for me to read words. And gmail has this pale-on-white layout that is painful for my eyes. And then I was locked out of my email account for 24 hours because I didn't want to join Google Plus. So now I'm moving off of gmail, which is a nuisance because they do have some good features. But it's not worth the baggage for me.
