As someone whose familial relationships are being strained by being in the closet I found it pretty spot on. I don't think the idea was that Elsa, and Anna never saw each other, they probably even spent some awkward meals together on days when Elsa was feeling more in control. There's even a deleted scene that implied they had more socialization (more of a deleted storyboard but Disney never seems to throw away much in finished animation), and while it didn't work for telling the story in a 1 1/2 hour format things like that probably happened.


And anyway it's pretty clear that Anna still adores Elsa.
