I thought the way the story handled the sisterly love v. romantic love was pretty poorly implemented. Maybe if they had spent more time on their interactions together in the castle before the whole blow up at the coronation party, or cut down on the Anna & Kristoff stuff (since it seems their relationship got more attention than that of Anna and Elsa's, but maybe I watched a different movie compared to everyone else), I dunno.

I agree. It wasn't convincing, I don't see where people are coming from...

"A good idea poorly implemented" is pretty much the entire movie in a nutshell.

It took me a while to realize it, but one of the big reasons the relationship between the sisters felt underdeveloped is that they have two songs together (or three, depending on how you want to count Do You Wanna Build a Snowman) that are all about how vastly different their feelings and perceptions are, and then there's no song where they actually come together. We needed an end scene with Elsa tentatively asking Anna if she wants to build a snowman and getting a yes.

Oh man, are you me? Because Elsa needing a reprise of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" was one of the (several) main points of my criticism of the film.

that's why i felt like the fanmade "yes i want to build a snowman" song was SO GOOD. And it bums me out that it's not official

Agreed. From the first watching I actually wished they had basically cut out Kristoff and given that screentime to Anna&Elsa.
TBH I think that Kristoff's role could mostly have been filled by having Sven be The Animal and be done...
