You could try putting in -"Steve/Tony" (or whatever the actual pairing tag is) in the "search within results" box, and it should remove all the fics tagged with that pairing from the results.

This is seriously one of the best ways to look for fic for rarer pairings

Yep, agreed. Whenever I'm looking for a specific Marvel pairing I always filter out all the other super popular pairings so I don't end up with one of them by accident.

There's also a AO3 blacklisting script for Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey that lets you blacklist any pairings/tags/authors/etc.
