That really bugged me, too, especially since their bond over the years could easily have been demonstrated by scenes of them trading letters underneath the door (or just talking through the door, really, I understand why Elsa was afraid of physical contact, but all communication?) or small gifts, instead of a montage that summed up their relationship over like ten straight years with "Go away, Anna". Outside of when they were children, the story did more to show Anna and Kristoff getting to know each other as people than Anna and Elsa. Kind of made the pivotal "true love's sacrifice" scene seem tacked on, to me - like the Hans twist, only clever on the surface, without much of a foundation underneath.

The complete halt of communication bothered me too... I actually was expecting them at one point to try and sneak letters to each other too...
