who's a "real" fan?

I would never judge you for that, but I'm probably not who you mean.

Honestly, I'm a huge fan of DW but I am not involved in fandom for it. I just watch the shows. I've written ONE fanfic, which still occasionally gets kudos, but that's it. I just love the show, don't want to talk about the plot / characters / writers (unless it's with my family, for instance), and just...it's my happy place.

Not all fans are like whatever fandom experience you've had (and some fandoms can be intense, I know). Sometimes, it seems like the happiest place to be is just enjoying something you love without trying to fit into a broader community that supports/rules it.
