So...given that the reason people who switched to Chrome from Firefox did so because Chrome was lighter weight, and given that that's also why I switched from Firefox to Chrome...

I think you need to clean your computer.

Defrag and run Chkdsk.

For chkdsk, if you're running Windows 8, I have no idea what to do. Otherwise:

-go to the Start Menu, and, depending on your OS, either select "run" and type "cmd" or type "cmd" in the search field
-Right-click the resulting program and select "run as administrator"
-type cd\
-type chkdsk

Defrag you can get to in a similar manner. If you just type "defrag" into the search bar or in "run" then it will pop up.
