But... it's not a coincidence. They asked to use his likeness for Ultimates. He said yes on the condition that he got to be Fury in the movies if any were made.

So...

I don't know what to tell you.

He's talking about 616, in which exactly what the secret said happened. Nick Fury's secret son reappeared who was also missing an eye, Nick Fury died, and so he decided to take over for Nick Fury and change his name to Nick Fury.

I'm aware. I'm just saying Marvel doesn't care about how stupid it sounds. It's not a coincidence. They're choosing to have their successful Untimates version carry over in some fashion to 616. They don't care how it's done. The OP makes it seem like they don't know they're pulling the strings of suspension of disbelief. I'm saying they know and they don't care.
